How the crew is allowed to move around the port area

Port of Kokkola has decided that the crew is allowed to move in the port area from/to the ship only with the help of vehicles and taxis. All forms of light transport (on foot, by bicycle, scooter etc.) are prohibited.

The ban in question is due to the fact that there are no safe routes for light traffic in the port area. We have also noticed that crew members easily get lost in the industrial area despite all the clear signage. In doing so, they endanger their own safety and disturb the peace of work of those working in the industrial area.
